Child Registers
Our system offers both digital and paper-based registers with daily, weekly, and monthly views. You can choose from three types of registers: a quick A-Z check-in/out, room registers, or registers by ratio, allowing you to manage attendance, occupancy and availability efficiently.
The system also enables easy recording of absences and extras directly from your registers. Status flags automatically highlight children with allergies, dietary needs, medical conditions, term-time, or funding types, ensuring your team is well-informed. Additionally, you have immediate access to critical data such as gender, EAL, SEND, and funding for Ofsted inspection call requirements.

The digital visitor book allows you to see exactly who is visiting, including their arrival time and duration on-site. You can also track the reason for their visit, who they are meeting, and their organisation with just a few clicks.

Automate room moves to ensure future registers are correct according to ratio. You can override these moves to hold children back or advance them based on their age or stage, and bulk room moves provide flexibility for managing transitions.
View future room availability and occupancy to maximise space and plan effectively. Additionally, check the room move forecast for individual children or across the entire nursery to ensure smooth transitions and optimal use of resources.

Our system includes an Ofsted info feature on your registers, allowing you to easily see how many children are booked in, their gender, EAL information, SEND details, and more. This ensures you have all the necessary information readily available for any Ofsted inspection call.
Additionally, Nursery in a Box provides an Ofsted Info report that combines various reports for easy printing, ready for inspections. Staff can also access personalised “All About Me” forms for each child, keeping up-to-date records. While we can’t be there with you, we hope these features help reduce the stress of Ofsted inspections.
